The world’s largest democracy India is celebrating 68th Independence Day today. India got its freedom on 15th August 1947 from Britain after the long Independence movement which was led by Indian National Congress and some great martyrs. After the freedom the united India was divided by the religious lines and then the new nation was born named Pakistan. Each year Pakistan also celebrates its Independence Day on 14th August.
On 15th August, 1947 the first prime minister of India Sri Jawaharlal Nehru raised national flag from the Red Fort – Delhi and gave the freedom speech to Indian people. The Independence Day was declared as national holiday and people of India celebrates this day by doing Flag-hoisting ceremony, Cultural events & parades, and some other competitions. Some Indians also celebrates this day by displaying national flags on their vehicles, cars, homes, offices, schools and some enjoys this day by listening patriot songs or watching some patriot movies on televisions.
Youth of India also celebrates this day by sending Independence day wishes over phone, via SMS or the new generation communication channels like WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter. A youngster display national flag on different social media sites and other communication mediums and shows their love toward the nation!
Each year the Prime minister of India hoist flag at Red Fort Delhi and addresses the nation by giving speech and also announce upcoming major events or programs which government will launch in upcoming year. This year the prime minister of India Narendra Modi will hoist flag and address the nation for the first time and everybody is eagerly waiting for this moment.
India is popular country across the world and proudly known as “Incredible India” who is famous for its culture and great history. This tag line actually given by Indian Tourism Department to promote India as a tourism hub. But some people use this tag line because of different colors of India.
