Have you ever thought if you can merge your car and motorcycle into one. We have seen some vehicles in sci-fi movies but someone has taken it to the higher level. According to LIT Motors, there is a huge room for cross breeding between closed four wheelers and slimmer conveyance two wheelers. The newest model, C1 by LIT Motors is actually runs on two wheels but also comes with a steering wheel. Maneuvering the road is done via a gyroscope while electric motors keep the vehicle in balance. This is the best example of cross breed two wheeler soon available in market.
The C1 technology merges the benefits of motorcycles and cars and can do many bike-specific things like getting parked at right angles between cars in lanes, split lanes and comes with an enclosed air conditioned cabin that makes it feel more like a car than a bike. In case of rains, you would have the advantages of a closed vehicle but at the same time you can zip through the road like a motorcycle would. Measuring only 38 inches wide, the C1 offers extreme maneuverability in urban traffic without getting exposed to the weather. The C1 can be occupied by two people including the driver and can speed up from 0 to 60 mps within 6.0 seconds. The curb weight of the vehicle is about 800 pounds and has an estimates range of 200 miles.
The price of LIT Motor’s C1 has been placed around $24,000 but right now just booking is available. It has been almost 2 years (2012) that the vehicle was first showcased but Motor Authority will be able to begin delivering it only after the fourth quarter of this year, i.e., September. Currently, the company is taking reservations costing $500 as the first installment of a total 1000 units. For those who just can seem to wait, a payment of $250 can reserve your vehicle for a second run which would eventually be totaling 10,000. These are likely to be quite optimistic estimates given a new manufacturer are coming up with a totally new product in the market that has never been tried on road. Only time will say if LIT Motors will be able to sell their first 10,000 vehicles before dreaming about more. Till now, LIT Motors has taken up around 1000 orders for the C1 vehicle. It certainly is for the buyers who just can’t decide between choosing a car and a motorcycle.
